Federer Beats Youzhny to Reach Wimbledon Semis

World No. 3 Roger Federer took just an hour and a half to dismiss World No. 33 Mikhail Youzhny in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2, 6-2, to advance to the Wimbledon semifinals.

“Today things worked out great for me, so I’m very happy,” Federer said. “It was nice to play with the roof open. It was a great match for me.  I played aggressive and served well again. I’m really pleased with my performance today.”

Federer hit two aces, 25 winners, and 13 unforced errors in his routine victory, and he was able to save both break points he faced. He broke Youzhny’s serve six times.

Federer will face World No. 1 Novak Djokovic in the semifinals.
