Wozniacki Reaches Seoul Final
World No. 11 Caroline Wozniacki beat Russia’s Ekaterina Makarova 6-1, 5-7, 6-4 to reach the final in Seoul.
It is the former World No. 1′s first WTA final since April of 2012 where she lost to Angelique Kerber in the final of her hometown tournament in Copenhagen.
Wozniacki served for the match once at 5-4 in the second set, but Makarova stormed back, winning three straight games to take the set 7-5. Wozniacki proved too consistent for the Russian World No. 28, breaking her at 4-4, and making no mistake in serving out the match at 5-4 for the second time.
Wozniacki will face Kaia Kanepi in the final on Saturday, where she’ll aim to win her first title in more than a year.
